State Police are investigating an incident that occured recently involving the Port Allegany High School Baseball Team.
A 74 year old man has been arraigned after an alleged threat made to the baseball coaching staff.
Police say Ronald Amell of Port Allegany threatened violence toward the coaches at 6 oclock Tuesday and Wednesday during practice and a game.

According to WESB radio , an incident was reported at FCI McKean Thursday night. Emergency Radio reports indicated an ambulance was dispatched to assist a stabbing victim, who recieved a wound to the neck. The ambulance arrived just before 8PM. The prison has no comment.

Valerie Mark has been named to the Bradford Housing Authority Executive Director Post. The post was vacated by Shelly Whitman, who resigned after being placed on a leave of absence last summer. Mark has worked for the housing authority for over 25 years.

A Wildfire yesterday near Kane drew out firefighters on two different occassions. The fire was reported at Callistus Cemetary. It apparently rekindled, and brought firefighters back a second time Thursday afternoon.

A company in Port Allegany has petitioned Liberty Township for water and sewer lines.

The Portage Development Group is hoping to expand its operations along Route 155. The project could provide a much needed boost to Port Allegany industry, and create more jobs.

A Bradford man has pleaded guilty to indecent assault on a minor.

69 year old Hugh Ayers admitted to indecent assault against a child. Charges of Aggravated Indecent Assault were dropped.

The girl was under 13 years old.

McKean County Human Resources Director Michelle Alfieri says that Melvin Isaac of Bradford has been jailed on drug charges.

Isaac is accused of drug trafficking and posession of a firearm. He's been fired from his job at the McKean County Prison for failing to show up for work.

State Police are looking for the driver involved in a crash Saturday in Corydon Township.

Officers say a car struck a ditch and rolled over several times before taking off.

The incident occured on Route 59 just west of Route 321 at the Ranger Station.

18 year old Chad Hadden of Port Allegany was cited with speeding after a crash on Bells Run Road in Ceres TWP Sunday.

State Troopers say Hadden lost control, left the road and hit a tree.
Hadden and his 16 year old female passenger was taken to Olean General for treatment of minor injuries. 36 year old James Crow was also a passenger in the vehicle. He taken by helicopter to rie County Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The Bradford Regional Airport will change its carrier soon.

The US Department of Transportation determined that Regions Air out of Tennessee will take over service at the airport, and the hub will change from Pittsburgh to Cleveland.

Local officials had pushed to keep Colgan Air as it's carrier, and to move the hub to Washington's Dulles International.

US Officials thought otherwise.

No date for a changeover has been set yet.

It was six months ago that the body of six year old Nickolas Ash was found alongside the body of his father, 26 year old John Ash.

Last Wednesday, the death was officially ruled by the McKean County District Attorney's office as a murder-suicide.

Police records show that both were killed with gunshot wounds to the head in September at a camp near Marshburg.

McKean County DA John Pavlock issued a Media statement last week that says that the flurry of local charities holding "Casino Nights" are often operating illegally. Pavlock says under the small games of chance law, only punchboards, pull tabs, raffles, and daily and weekly drawings are permitted.

"It does not include any card games-no poker nights, or Texas Hold'em - roulette wheels, dice, or other gambling type activities commonly undertaken at Casino Nights," Pavlock told local media outlets.

Pavlock's office is often flooded with complaints whenever he tells a group their event is illegal, asking why other groups are allowed to have such events. Pavlock's answer, they're NOT allowed.

AN Eagle Scout From Bradford will be awarded an honor for saving a woman's life.
18 year old Dan Oaks was headed home from the Universal Techincal Institute in Philadelphia last August when he passed two cars on Route 219 near the town of Lewis Run. He pulled over and found a car on the side of the road in a culvert, with Kate Quinn trapped inside. He grabbed a jack from his car, and rescued Quinn, and called 911.

THe Boy Scouts of America will honor Oaks April 22 with the National Heroism Award.

McKean County has announced that the software that will be used by the new
electronic voting machines can be previewed online.

To alleviate any confusion about how the voting machines will work, <a
href=http://www.mckeancountypa.org>mckeancountypa.org</a> has a link to
allow users to practice voting using the same interface that will run on the
electronic voting machines.

District Judge Bill Todd's twin daughters will appear on television.

The Discovery Health Channel will air "In Search of the Most Identical
Twins" on Sunday.

Todd's five year old girls, Molly and Patty were in Twinsberg Ohio last
summer for the annual twin convention.

The show will air at 8 o'clock Sunday night.

of the SAT. The announcement was made at the Kane Are School board meeting.

The fishing at Marilla won't be that great this year.
Because of the rehabilitation of the dam this year, Bradford City Water
Authority director Kim Benjamin says the reservoir will not be stocked with
trout, as it typically is each fishing season.
Benjamin says the water levels will be disturbed all year long because of
the construction project.
The dam was deemed unsafe recently, and the authority will pay 2.9 million
dollars to rehab the dam.

A Port Allegany man pleaded no contest to sex crimes levied against him in
court yesterday.
35-year-old Dean Fuller's plea means he doesn't admit or deny the charges,
but confirms that he could not win the case against him in court.

Fuller is accused of aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, and
endangering the welfare of a child. He will be required to undergo a sexual
offenders assessment.

Bradford man Mark Burlingame pleaded guilty to assault and threats charges
for an incident at the Italian Festival.

The 22 year old was reportedly arrested for public intoxication. He got into
an altercation with a Bradford City Police officer, and tried to get one of
the officer's guns.

Officials at the Community Bloodbank of Northwest PA are concerned about the
recent threat of insufficient blood.

The blood bank has been struggling with a shortage of type O and Type A
blood for about a week. Public Relations Director Dan Deroshers says they
are really starting to worry. He says there has been an increase in donors,
but it's not enough to alleviate the shortage.

The blood bank in Bradford. will be open Saturday from 9-1.

No one was hurt in an accident at just before noon today (Thursday) at the
intersection of Route 66 and Jo Jo Road in Wetmore Township.
State police say a car driven by Mary Rotar of James City hit a car driven
by Jeffrey Schweitzer of Kane while it was stopped waiting to make a left
turn.
Both cars were damaged. The Kane Fire department and ambulance assisted at
the scene.

A Port Allegany man is in McKean County Jail for allegedly dropping a
2-month-old baby down a flight of stairs.
29-year-old Darien Dunsing is charged with endangering the welfare of a
child and reckless endangerment.
Documents filed with District Judge Rich Luther say Dunsing was under the
influence of illegal drugs and alcohol when he dropped the baby, causing
serious injury to his head.
Documents also say Dunsing did not seek medical help right away. When the
baby's mother, Jamie Pearsall, returned home, she and Dunsing took the baby
to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Couderport.
The baby was later flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Dansville. The
incident happened February 24. No information is available on the baby's
current condition.
Dunsing's preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 17 in front of
District Judge Bill Todd of Smethport.

A Port Allegany woman complained of neck and back pain after an accident at
noon yesterday at the intersection of North Union and Wayne streets in
Olean.
Police say cars driven by 35-year-old Tonya Kilpatrick of Port Allegany and
59-year-old Arthur Stuck Jr. of Alfred Station collided.
Despite the complaints of pain, Kilpatrick did not seek medical treatment.

Charges are pending against a 17-year-old student who allegedly had
marijuana at Otto Eldred High School.

Police say the unidentified male student also had drug paraphernalia.
Troopers add that during the course of their investigation, they learned
that the student allegedly also stole several items from the Seneca
Highlands IU9 Vo-Tech School in Port Allegany.

The pending charges are possession of a small amount of marijuana, drug
paraphernalia, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

Charges are pending against Kenneth Marsh.
The 46 year old bar owner is charged with two liquor code violations.
The Bureau of Liquor Control raided Marsh's Bar on West Washington Street in
December.
Court records say two undercover officers ordered and bought beer in
December of 2004. State Police confirmed that Marsh's did not have a liquor
license at the time.
122 gallons of malt or brewed beverages was seized on January 11 of 2005
when officers observed patrons being served alcohol.
Marsh waived a preliminary hearing before District Judge Dominic Cercone
Wednesday.

On the fifth anniversary of the death of his victim, James McMahon appeared
in court, asking for a new trial.
McMahon claims his attorney; Dennis Luttenauer was ineffective in not
letting the jury know of his intoxication at the time of the murder.
Luttenaur testified that he explained the defense to McMahon, who told the
attorney then that he was not drunk at the time of the murder.
McMahon is serving a life sentence for the 2001 murder of Link Dowell.
Testimony in yesterday's hearing was finished. Once he receives the court
transcripts, defense attorney Greg Henry will have a deadline of 30 days to
file briefs.

Plans for the Armory at the Bradford Airport are officially a go.
The Bradford Airport Authority met for it's monthly meeting yesterday. The
board voted unanimously for the approval of the sale of land to the
Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
The authority then signed the sales agreement, which will allow the Guard to
build a 5.7 million dollar armory on site.
Groundbreaking is expected in April or May.
Still no word from the US Department of Transportation on the Airport's
requests to hold on to Colgan Air as their carrier.

An Eldred Man has been charged with Sex Crimes.

35-year-old Glen Wank of Eldred allegedly touched the chest and genitals of
a 14-year-old boy, and rubbed his thighs on New Year's Day.

A Bradford who allegedly assaulted his wife and threatened police officers
last month is free on 25 hundred dollars bail.

23-year-old Jeffrey Mackey is charged with simple assault and terroristic
threats in connection with an incident on February 10.

According to documents filed with District Judge Rich Luther, when police
were called to his home, he threatened them. While they were there, officers
noticed on scratch on Kristy Mackey's face. They also learned that Jeffrey
Mackey also allegedly choked his wife.

Two Eldred women charged with burglary, criminal trespass and criminal
conspiracy waived their preliminary hearings today in front of District
Judge Rich Luther.

19-year-old Jessica Gebauer and 20-year-old Amanda Iresbal are accused of
entering the home of Joshua Hakes and taking a DVD player, movies and
computer software.

A Bradford man accused of assaulting another man waived his preliminary
hearing today in front of District Judge Dominic Cercone.

On New Year's Day, 28-year-old David Quick allegedly grabbed Jeremy Lyberg
and punched him in the face.

A Bradford man waived his preliminary hearing today on charges of rape,
statutory sexual assault, indecent assault and corruption of minors.

25-year-old Jason Meyers is accused of having sex with a girl younger than
13 at his home in October of last year.

Stephanie Cramer was committed to jail after more theft charges were levied
against her Wednesday.

Cramer had already been charged with theft and receiving stolen property for
allegedly stealing 236 thousand dollars from Orchard Apartments
Incorporated.

Wednesday, she was arraigned for allegedly taking another 161 thousand
dollars by signing checks on John Kohler's rental account and failing to
deposit rent money into Kohler's savings account from January of 2003 to
December of 2005.

She was jailed in lieu of 50 thousand dollars bail.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 22 in front of District
Judge Dominic Cercone.

The Bradford Ranger District of the Allegheny National Forest is proposing
to continue local fish habitat improvements.
Fish habitats will be placed in Willow, Sugar and Kinzua bays, along with
smaller bays in the area. All together, about 250 acres will be improved.
Also, up to 50 acres a year for the next 4 years are proposed for seeding to
release nutrients from the soil that would provide spawning areas as well as
early cover for small fish.

Bradford Little Theatre has announced the cast for its latest production,
"An American Daughter."
Justine Julian-Baltusavich of Bradford plays the lead, Lyssa Dent Hughes,
the daughter of a US Senator and descendent of Ulysses Grant.
Other cast members include Regina Knapp of Lewis Run; Aaron Willings, a
student at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford; Alliyson Costello
Maduri of Bradford; Spencer Turner, a Pitt-Bradford student; David
Baltsuvich of Bradford; Charles E. Church of Bradford; and Martha Madden of
Bradford.
Also in the cast are BLT veterans Michael Church, Anne Holliday, Rick
Frederick, Eric L. VanDruff and Dani Brien. Newcomers include Pitt-Bradford
student Seth Bickford and Bradford resident Pam Gaffney.
Rebekah Blair is directing the play, which will be presented March 31 and
April 1 and 2.

Pitt Bradford is sending twelve students to build homes.
Pitt Bradford's Habitat for Humanity Club will be working this week on
building homes for families in need in Mechanicsville Virginia during their
spring break.
The Students raised over 15 hundred dollars to go on the trip.

The next step in hiring a new jail warden is coming soon.
McKean County Commissioner John Egbert says that three applicants will begin
the interview process soon. Egbert hopes the commissioners can announce a
candidate by April 7. A number of county officials will conduct the
interviews.

It looks like there will be charges in a case that's been under
investigation since November of 2004.
Donald Brooks of Lewis Run has been charged with DUI and fleeing or eluding
police after that fatal accident near Lewie's Lounge that claimed the life
of Matthew Hooper. Hooper was ejected from his vehicle in an initial crash.
As he lay in the roadway, Brooks' vehicle passed by, and police allege that
he ran over Hooper. Police later stopped Brooks on Owen's way and determined
him to be operating under the influence.

The Port Allegany School Board's Facilities committee met on Thursday to
discus some of the features proposed in a possible upgrade to the elementary
school. Some of the items discussed were the proposal of sprinklers being
installed in the building as well as the addition of air-conditioning among
other improvements. The third option from a proposal made by Crabtree,
Rohrbach and Associates of Mechanicsburg in November of 2004 that the School
board committee looks to institute is estimated to cost six point two
million dollars of which three point eight would be reimbursed by the state.

5 Kane residents were injured along State Route 321 in Jones Township. 18
year old Shayna Nelson was driving a dodge caravan with 18 year old Paul
Richards and three juvenile passengers when she lost control on slush
covered roadways, and struck an embankment A 13 year old and a 16 year old
were ejected from the vehicle, and sustained moderate injuries.
The other three in the car, received minor injuries.

A Bradford woman convicted of stealing more than 900 dollars in merchandise
from the Foster Brook Wal-Mart. Will spend one year on probation.
23-year-old Shauna Sherk was also sentenced to 40 hours community service on
retail theft charges.

A Bradford woman will serve up to six months on house arrest, with a GPS
system used to monitor her whereabouts.
54-year-old Linda Chapin was sentenced for DUI.
The court says Chapin has a medical condition, and jail time would be
detrimental to her health.

A Mt Jewett man appeared in court Thursday, and was fined 250 dollars for
marijuana possession.
Dale Walker told the judge that he is missing a leg after a post surgical
infection.
The 56 year old told Judge John Yoder that he is treating phantom pain with
the pot.
Yoder says the State Legislature has made possession of marijuana a crime
even if used for medicinal purposes.

Contract talks pick back up again for the Bradford Area School District
March 15.
Solicitor Christian Mattie says the Bradford Area Education Association has
a tentative agreement with the district.
The teacher's contract expired in June of 2005, but teachers will continue
to work while the contract issues find resolution.
Human Resources Director Lee Ann Doynow says negotiations with the bus
drivers, and maintenance and custodial staff are progressing as well. Those
groups will meet in a negotiating session Tuesday.

An SUV flipped on Minard Run Road Thursday afternoon.
Bradford Township Police say 40-year-old Limestone woman, Clara Stone lost
control, struck a ditch, and rolled her vehicle onto its roof.
ItÂ’s not clear of stone was injured. Her passenger, 22-year-old Jennifer
Dinch was not injured.

A man who shot his television will spend the next 60 days to one year in
McKean County Jail.
On July 26 at his home, Matthew Pearce fired several shots from a pistol
into his TV.
He pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment.

A car was severely damaged but no one was hurt in an accident at about 2:30
Thursday on Route 6 in Hamlin Township.
State police say a car driven by 45-year-old Susan Chamberlain of Mount
Jewett went out of control and hit a tree.
The car was towed from the scene.
Police are continuing their investigation.

A Bradford man is in Jail on aggravated assault charges.
Bradford City police say 44-year-old David Fuller assaulted Robert Whyte in
an apartment above The New Keystone on East Main Street.
Fuller allegedly struck white with a baseball bat. Whyte apparently wielded
a knife in the altercation.
Whyte was treated for injuries at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Fuller was taken to BRMC for a mental evaluation and was charged with
aggravated assault.
Both men face charges in the incident.

A Bradford woman tells Olean police that someone forged her name on fourstolen checks.Tammy Mackey says someone stole her purse at the Olean Center Mall onFebruary 20, and the checks were in the purse.

State Representative Kathy Rapp has been appointed to the Legislative
Forestry Task Force.

The task force advises the general assembly on policies and legislation
relating to forest and timber industry issues.

Rapp says some of the issues they'll be focusing on are forest regeneration
and the consequences of the government acquiring private forest land.

The McKean County coroner's office is looking for the family of a man that
died last month.

79-year-old Arthur Huntley died of natural causes. The coroner's office has
been unsuccessful in locating a next of kin.

Two Pennsylvania drivers were involved in separate accidents in Olean over
the weekend.

Police say that at about 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon vehicles driven by
19-year-old Amanda Behan of Bradford and 71-year-old LC Limerick Jr of Olean
collided at the intersection of Grandview Avenue and Grandview Court.

No one was hurt and police didn't file charges.

At 6 o'clock Sunday night vehicles driven by 44-year-old Kelly Savey of
Olean and 71-year-old Norma DeHaven of Port Allegany collided on West State
Street.

Police say no one was hurt in that accident, and no charges were filed.

A Smethport man is facing many charges after a hit and run incident in
Smethport this morning according to Kane Based State Police. Jason Carter
was traveling west on State route 6 when he allegedly impacted the rear of a
car parked on Franklin Street while operating a cell phone. The parked
vehicle owned by Liu Hong of Arcade, NY, was pushed 60 feet west and came to
rest in the intersection of Franklin Street. Carter then allegedly fled to
his home where he was found and arrested. No injuries were reported in the
incident.

18-year-old Richard Eck suffered injuries Friday in a one-vehicle accident
on State Route 770, Minard Run Road. According to the Bradford Township
report Eck lost control of his vehicle while rounding a curve striking an
embankment and a few trees. Eck was transported to the Bradford Regional
Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Foster Township Supervisors and the township solicitor are looking into the
legality of an Olean Road company.

Universal Well Services has drawn a number of complaints at Foster Township
meetings recently.

Residents say, pollution, and noise have turned the area surrounding the
well company from a residential area, to an industrial area, and they
threatened to move of the township doesn't do something about it.

Residents asked if the business could be moved to the Lafferty Hollow area.
Supervisors say their still waiting on an access road, and it could be
another year before the access road gets the green light.

Two people were seriously injured when a fireworks building near Cuba NY
exploded yesterday.

New York State Police report that Grand Fireworks Incorporated in
Clarksville exploded during normal manufacturing operations.

23-year-old Andrew Beck of Cuba, and 51 year old Karl Marvin of Bolivar were
seriously injured when the materials exploded

They were taken by helicopter to Erie County Medical Center, and are listed
in critical condition.

The nature of the explosion is under investigation.

An ordinance was passed establishing a mechanism for release of a geographic
information system in McKean County at Tuesday's McKean County
Commissioner's meeting. Also a resolution was passed establishing a rate
schedule for the geographic information system of $25.00 per tile consisting
of 2,296 acres. Also the Commissioner's accepted an offer from Stanley
Pecora to purchase the mineral rights to a parcel of land within Bradford
Township.

A man who allegedly left the scene of an accident last summer is in jail in
lieu of 5 thousand dollars bail.

37-year-old Randy Bunce was arraigned today by District Judge Rich Luther on
charges that he left the scene of an accident involving personal injury and
damage, and others.

Court documents say that at 3 p.m. on June 26 Bunce's vehicle rear-ended
another vehicle on Derrick Road, and then he fled the scene.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 22.

A Cyclone man waived his preliminary on drug charges today in front of
District Judge Rich Luther.

43-year-old Dale Scheffer was charged with possession of marijuana and
paraphernalia after an incident on August 28, 2005, in Duke Center.

According to court documents, when police stopped Scheffer for speeding,
officers thought he was acting nervous and subsequently asked to search him
and his vehicle. While patting him down, an officer allegedly fund a pipe
containing resin and leaves and a substance believed to be cocaine.

A jury found a Bradford resident guilty of possessing a controlled
substance.

Theresa Bottorf failed to show up for her trial in McKean County Court on
charges that lorzapan pills were found in her residence in April.

Jurors deliberated for just over an hour.

Swann's campaign for governor.

The local republican committee has not taken any action to endorse or not
endorse Swan.

McKean County Republican Committee chairman C. Russel Johnson is not in
support of the footballer turned politician.

Causer says he thinks the majority of McKean County rtepublicans will back
Swann.

Seven Kane Area High School students are going to trial.

The mock trial team is getting ready for a competition next Wednesday in
Bellefonte.

Team members include Jake Pusateri, Luke Wahlberg, Heather Aul, Caitlin
Cannella, Bethany Waters, Sami Hulings and Frances Wolfe.

Kane qualified to compete in the regional semi-finals by finishing second in
the district competition held earlier this month at the county courthouse in
Smethport.

Kane is one of 250 schools in the state to enter the competition this year.

The national competition is in Oklahoma City in May.
