A Smethport man is facing many charges after a hit and run incident in
Smethport this morning according to Kane Based State Police. Jason Carter
was traveling west on State route 6 when he allegedly impacted the rear of a
car parked on Franklin Street while operating a cell phone. The parked
vehicle owned by Liu Hong of Arcade, NY, was pushed 60 feet west and came to
rest in the intersection of Franklin Street. Carter then allegedly fled to
his home where he was found and arrested. No injuries were reported in the
incident.
