Officials at Pittsburgh Corning announced last week that it plans on shutting down one of it's melters on February 1.

Human Relations Director Stacey Lunn says the shutdown will lead to the layoff of 50 workers.

The company's problems are because of an influx of imported glass blocks, made by overseas companies, and sold at cheaper prices.
