Bradford Era: County officials look at ways to reduce overcrowding at prison

McKean County officials are looking at establishing a separate dormitory for work release inmates at the Old County Home, as part of an effort to lower overcrowding at the prison and be in compliance with the state.

Prison Overcrowding Getting Better

Deputy warden Tim Woodruff at the McKean County prison says that the overcrowding situation is getting a little better.

In december, there were 103 inmates. Now there an average of 80.

The numbers are still more than the prison should be holding, though.
