41 year old Grace Telese has been charged with identity theft, forgery, and theft charges after allegedly stealing more than 200 thousand dollars from her elderly mother.

73 year old Maria Telese is an Italian Immigrant that speaks very little English. Her daughter has been managing her affairs and acting as her Power of Attorney.

In September of 2004, that Area Office of Aging was tipped off by an anonymous source about the alleged theft.

Caseworkers told the Attorney General's office that Maria Telese did not have adequate food in her home, and did not have money for groceries.

Court records show that the daughter had purchased items and leased vehicles in her mother's name, with money from her accounts, and made various bank transfers from her mother's account as well.

Grace Telese was arraigned and released on 2 thousand dollars bail.
