BRADFORD, Pa. - It was a military funeral that could have turned ugly but instead turned into a beautiful tribute from a caring community.
Friday’s funeral for U.S. Army Sergeant Thomas Maholic, who was killed in Afghanistan on June 24, was one that had local police agencies mustering together to keep the peace. The reason for concern was attributed to the fact that a small, radical religious group from Topeka, Kansas attended the event at St. Bernard Elementary and Middle School to protest the funeral
