WFRM Radio reports that that 259 of the layoffs at the Time Warner Call Center in Coudersport are Potter county residents. 108 are from McKean County, 30 are from Cameron County. More than 100 workers come from Allegany County everyday in New York State.
Time Warner's decision to close the call center will take effect in Februar. In the meantime, laid off workers will be swarming into local job centers looking for work.
Maureen Huff, Corporate Director of Communications for Time Warner, is quoted as saying the employees will be given the opportunity to transfer to another call center elsewhere.
